Over 200 people converged on the King Jack Amphitheater Saturday as several area bands and other performers took to the stage to make PowerFest a reality.

“Greater Than Fables” a band from southeast Kansas kicked off the music portion of the festival. In between the bands, which also included: “Redeemed”; “Among The Lost” and “Cast Out Of Eden.” , “For His Glory” a Christian Drama team brought to life several popular Christian songs through their dramatic interpretations. A trio of young men also entertained the crowd with an amazing Dubstep Dance routine. There were also special speakers who shared spiritual messages.

“Light Up The Darkness” a band that includes a father, his two daughters and a son-in-law finished out the night with some of the best metal that this area has to offer. The festival’s emcee was The BEAT’S own Joseph “Joe” Johnson, who also performed stand up comedy at the event.
