Fancy bows, ribbons and lace. Pretty dresses and those very first steps. These are the thing that a parent of a one year old daughter should be preoccupied with. Multiple trips to Kansas City Children’s Hospital, sleepless nights, and hours spent in a surgery waiting room while your little girl under goes her seventh surgery, should not be on any parent’s agenda.

Such is the young life so far for one year old Adalyn Cates. This little fighter has spent her days, weeks and months in and out of the hospital. While most one year olds are working on taking their first steps, Adalyn has had a tumor removed from her brain.

As you can imagine, the mental and emotional turmoil weighs heavily on any parent going through this struggle. Finances should be the last thing on their mind. As a community, we should take advantage of any opportunity to help that presents itself.

On Saturday, March 29th, you can do just that. Musicians For Miracles, a four-state charitable organization is sponsoring a benefit for little Adalyn. Beginning at 4:00pm, the event will include a chili feed, an auction, and live entertainment featuring Tim Wright. Adalyn’s celebration will take place at The Square Dance Hall at 1801 W. 2nd Street in Joplin MO.

For those of you who want to help Adalyn, but cannot attend the benefit, you can send a check to Musician’s For Miracles, Inc. 16011 South 657 Road, Wyandotte, OK 74370. Simply write Adalyn’s name on the memo line.

As with all Musician’s For Miracles benefits, 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to Adalyn.
